Dale R. Rusch MS’66, PhD‘69, age 91, of Chanhassen, Minnesota. passed away on May 12, 2023. Dale received his MS and PhD in educational administration from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dr. Rusch was awarded a fellowship to pursue his doctoral studies by the Wisconsin Association of School District Administrators in 1967. Dr. Rusch previously worked as a teacher in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, and high school principal in Whitehall, Wisconsin. Dr. Rusch finished his career in education at Minnetonka (Minnesota) School District in 1994, where he was instrumental in introducing the Chinese language program to the district. In retirement he volunteered at the Minnesota Zoo and maintained 38 bluebird houses around Chanhassen. Dale enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, bowling, biking, gardening, and the Green Bay Packers. He was preceded in death by loving wife, Jean, who typed his doctoral dissertation on an electric typewriter while the family lived in the university’s housing, Eagle Heights. He will be missed by daughter Debbie (Mike) Vold, son Dan, granddaughter Sarah (Kyle) Palmer, grandson Andrew (Lindsey Hubler) Vold, great-grandchildren Brynn and Jackson Palmer, sister Rachel Peterson, brother-in-law Bob (Shirley) Schroeder, and many nieces and nephews. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
